GeoMate’s Insights from TAC 2025: Building the Future of Transportation Networks

GeoMate’s Mahir Saggar went to TAC 2025 in Quebec City! The conference was huge, both in terms of scale and relevance for GeoMate; we can’t wait to come back.

Let’s jump right into Day 1, where Mahir gave a presentation about the present and future of GeoMate, particularly our specialization in mapping transportation networks with AI using aerial imagery. Mahir noted the flaws of traditional mapping processes before discussing how GeoMate’s innovative approach utilizes aerial imagery and computer vision technology, both of which have taken leaps over the past decade. With close to 80 attendees, Mahir received positive feedback on GeoMate’s philosophy and our preparedness for the future of mobility; immediately, the conference felt like a success. Countless people took the time to either reconnect or chat with us for the first time, which Mahir appreciated; we’re confident the partnerships formed and maintained in Quebec will carry over for years to come. Plus, not every conference has this for a view.

Day 2 was full of meetings and sessions for Mahir, as he attended other presentations to learn more about the mobility industry as it continues to evolve. Similar to GeoMate’s expedition at MOVE America, one of the highlights of the conference was its evening networking event, which led to countless productive conversations. When we asked Mahir why the evening sessions were such a hit, he noted, “it’s easier to talk about work when everyone feels like they’re at a party.”

And clearly, they did.

Day 3 was GeoMate’s final day at TAC, and once again, it did not disappoint. After a productive day of meetings and sessions, Mahir ended it off by visiting Nili Alimentation, a café in the city owned by our very own CEO, Amin Gharebaghi! After a coffee and a bagel (and a few photos to capture the moment), Mahir was ready to come home. When Mahir returned to work late in the week, we asked him to reflect on his recent conference experiences. Here’s what he had to say:

“What excited me most was the collective willingness of people to help one another do business as we move ahead, especially in an industry that has every opportunity to prosper in the coming years. Not that I should be surprised; people have always been easy to work with, but it does feel like the growing demand for AVs and sustainable transportation has made everyone more motivated to make that initial reachout.”

This is great news for GeoMate. As a company, we continue to learn just how grand the scale of our industry and the demand for our services can be. So, we’re excited to move forward and bring our learnings with us on this journey towards a sustainably mobile world.

Humanity will get there, and we’re ready to be part of it.

See you next year, TAC! 😊
